This refers to the vertical lines on the upper lip giving them a puckered appearance. You don’t have to be a smoker to get these lines. They can occur with normal ageing due to loss of volume and skin strength. These can make you look old and tired. But there is an easy solution.
At Luxe Skin we use a combination of Fillers and Botox to correct these lines. First the filler is injected in the upper lip to fill and stretch out the lines giving the skin the strength that it has lost. Then a small amount of Botox is used to reduce the puckering effect when talking. This enhances the effect of the filler and reduces the rate at which new lines are formed.
Smoker’s Lines FAQ
Q. Is it painful?
A. An anaesthetic cream or injection can be used to numb the area and reduce any discomfort.
Q. I am scared of getting a duck lip?
A. It is important that this treatment is done by an experienced doctor. If too much filler is injected, the upper lip can appear puffy. With too little filler, the result is poor. At Luxe Skin, Doctor Q will choose the right thickness of filler depending on the severity of the lines to produce an optimal result.
