What Is A Non-Surgical Nose Job?

non surgical rhinoplasty

When you’re at all unhappy with your nose and want to change its shape or lose those lumps and bumps, there’s a treatment that you’re going to love! Non-surgical nose reshaping, also known as non-surgical rhinoplasty is an effective procedure that avoids the risks associated with surgery. Revolutionary new techniques using dermal fillers can straighten noses and soften defects with minimal downtime. What is a non-surgical nose job? Take a look…

The Dermal Nose Filler Job

Dermal fillers are a great alternative to surgery for nose reshaping. It can include filling in depressed areas, lifting the angle of the tip, or simply smoothing out bumps on the bridge of the nose. If you have any concerns about pain don’t worry as the procedure only causes mild discomfort – and you can have an application of topical cream to numb the area if you wish.

The nose is a particularly delicate area of the face and the injections need to be done by an experienced cosmetic doctor to avoid overrunning the blood supply. The sterile syringe will be pre-packaged with the appropriate filler and the material will be injected under the nasal skin. The procedure will normally take between 10 and 30 minutes to complete in the surgeon’s consultation room.

Nose reshaping dermal fillers will last anywhere between six and 12 months. You can arrange to have regular follow-ups to maintain your appearance over time, once your initial treatment has been completed.

Modern Fillers

Modern injectable soft-tissue filler agents consist of:

  • Calcium hydroxyapatite – non-reversible long-lasting sturdy filler
  • Hyaluronic acid – safe and non-allergenic temporary filler that can be dissolved with hyaluronidase
  • Liquid silicon – used in microdroplet techniques for permanent versions
  • Polymethylmethacrylate – permanent filler made from microscopic surgical plastic beds requiring several treatment sessions.

Possible Risks

As with other aesthetic procedures, possible complications can include:

  • Infection
  • Foreign body reaction is known as granuloma
  • Discomfort with swelling and bruising
  • Broken capillaries are known as a hematoma

However, for the vast majority of patients, there’s no recovery time and you can continue with your daily routine immediately afterwards.

You’ll be advised not to apply make-up to your nose for six hours following your treatment. And you’ll need to avoid wearing heavy glasses or sunglasses for about two weeks afterwards. These precautions will minimise the impact on the treated area. If you’re a little red and bruised you can ask for laser treatments to soothe the skin.

Thanks Dr. Q!

Dr. Q has done my lip fillers and wrinkle reduction. Lots of people tell me I’m looking really well but my look is natural so they don’t always guess I’ve had any work done and that’s exactly what I wanted. Dr. Q listens well and therefore provides the look you want. Nice relaxed atmosphere in the clinic. Treatments are painless (I use anaesthetic cream for lip fillers). The clinic is clean and bright. Love my little visits!
