What Is The Difference Between One Stitch Facelift And Thread Lift?

one-stitch-facelift-or-thread-lift

When you want to revitalise your appearance but don’t relish surgery there’s a revolutionary option! You can undergo a non-invasive one-stitch facelift that takes very little time, is almost invisible, and lasts for over a year. So, what is the difference between one-stitch facelift and thread lift? Read on…

The One-Stitch Facelift Explained

This procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic through a tiny incision at the side of the face. The stitch is buried in the hair so completely invisible. The patient’s own skin is used to move sagging jowls and cheeks into a more youthful position.

Once the skin is undermined a tunnel is created in the temporal area. The flap is passed through and anchored into place with just one stitch. Excess skin is actually removed so the results are long-lasting.

What Is a Thread Lift?

The treatment works by threading Polylactic Acid fibre from the hairline down under the skin of your cheeks. These threads have a number of minute cones along their lengths which anchor themselves into the skin. When in place the threads are tightened, pulling up the excess skin and removing wrinkles, making your skin look smooth and shapely.

The application of a local anaesthetic will ensure the procedure is completely painless. It takes about 30 -45 minutes to perform, and there’s little recovery time. You’ll be able to see immediate effects from shape and tone improvement, and additional benefits will be noticeable as the skin is encouraged to regain its volume and restore the natural shape of your face.

Before the Treatment

You’ll be asked not to eat or drink anything after midnight on the day of your thread lift. Any medications you normally take will need to be discussed and you’ll be advised if you need to stop taking them. Antibiotics may be given before the procedure starts.

Aftercare

  • Ask someone to drive you home and help with daily activities for the first day;
  • Limit speaking as this helps with healing;
  • Stick to soft foods and liquids for the first week;
  • You’ll need to avoid bending down for one or two days after the procedure to reduce swelling;
  • Don’t rub the area when you shower or wash your hair;
  • Avoid facial massages for about three weeks;
  • Sleep propped up on extra pillows to help elevate your position at night for about a week;
  • Take your painkillers and any courses of antibiotics as appropriate.

Common Risks

Following the procedure, you may need up to three days off work, but in just two weeks you’ll be able to enjoy walking and sports activities as normal. You could possibly experience:

  • Bruising and swelling
  • Temporary numbness
  • Skin irregularity

If you get an infection, bleeding, or delayed healing you must consult your cosmetic doctor.

Thanks Dr. Q!

Dr. Q has done my lip fillers and wrinkle reduction. Lots of people tell me I’m looking really well but my look is natural so they don’t always guess I’ve had any work done and that’s exactly what I wanted. Dr. Q listens well and therefore provides the look you want. Nice relaxed atmosphere in the clinic. Treatments are painless (I use anaesthetic cream for lip fillers). The clinic is clean and bright. Love my little visits!
